Hi North Marching Band and Guard families!  Your child should be bringing home a HANDOUT with details about Thursday's sleepover and the Friday schedule.  If you don't see it, ask him/her for it!  Also, if you know freshman families, please forward this email or give them a call.  They aren't yet on the email listserv.

Meanwhile, here's some information from the Band Booster Board:

Thursday night (8/16) the band rehearses until 10 PM.  Then there's swimming in the North pool (and a chance to take a shower!), followed by the annual midnight "talent" show.  This sleepover is a great bonding event.  Adult chaperones are still needed, so please contact Janis Stockhouse if you are available for a few hours.

Friday morning and afternoon will vary for each section, with Section
Leaders in charge of making plans for their group.  The entire band will reconvene
sometime in the mid-afternoon--see the HANDOUT.

Friday evening is the annual family Pitch-In Dinner and Band Showcase.
Arrive at North between 5:00-5:20 PM with a Main Dish (enough to feed 6) and a Side Dish or Dessert.  5:30 - 6:00 pm is the Band's Exhibition on the football field.  You'll get to see how much the band's learned in one week. Afterward, we'll go inside to eat, followed by
another show in the Auditorium, featuring the Band's music. 

Throughout the evening, BE SURE to visit all the information tables staffed by the Band Board.  You'll want to volunteer and sign up for:   Chaperoning, Football Concessions & Hilly Hundred, Pit Crew (sets up the Pit instruments at competitions), Pay your Band Booster Dues and purchase Cougar Band Spirit Items; and check on Health Forms/Code of Ethics.
