Running a high-quality band and color guard program that supports a wide range of activities is expensive. Nearly all the money required comes from marching band dues ($250/student), Band Booster fundraisers, and donations. In addition to buying tickets to events such as concerts and the spring Swing Dance, you can support the band program by contributing to the fund drives described below.
How to Donate:
The Patron Drive is an annual event which supports North’s Jazz and Concert Bands. All funds raised will help pay for items such as concert guest artists, JSOM coaches for students in chamber ensembles and jazz combos, new school instruments, festival and contest entry fees, music, mutes, percussion sticks, mallets, etc. Patrons' names will be listed in all of the year's concert programs.
(Be sure to click and respond to the line that says The Endowment Fund was established as a means of providing much-needed support for the entire band program on a permanent and ongoing basis, regardless of economic times. This fund will be available to fund bigger-ticket items outside of the usual budget, such as rhythm section instruments and amplifiers for the jazz program, large woodwind, brass and percussion instruments for the concert bands, and special needs of the marching band. Gifts of $100 and above will be listed on a special plaque in the school.
The March-a-thon, which occurs in early fall, is the major fundraiser for the marching band. Students request donations from family, friends, and businesses and attempt to meet individual goals. If you'd like to contribute, watch for information on the website or ask a band member in the fall.
Donations to the General Fund, which pays for regular annual expenses, are always greatly appreciated.
