All-State Musicians Announced

The following BHSN students have been selected for the 2015 Indiana All-State Jazz Combo, the most elite All-State Jazz group.

  • Matt Waterman (trombone)
  • Aaron Mutchler (trumpet)
  • Chelsea Campbell (piano)
  • Elias McDermott-Sipe (guitar)
  • Alex Valdez (bass)
  • Chris Parker (drums)

Yes, everyone but the saxophonist is from BHSN!

Selected for the All-State Jazz Big Band were Alex Derenchuk and Tom Levesque (both trumpet).

These students will attend rehearsals and perform in concert at Butler University February 11-13. All-State Jazz Ensembles are selected by a committee of the Indiana Jazz Education Association. Applications and auditions were submitted in November.

Also… Selected for the 2015 Indiana All-State Orchestra (IMEA/ASTA) was Minjae Chung (clarinet). And chosen for the 2015 Junior High All-State Band (IMEA/IBA) were 8th graders: Paul Yoo (clarinet) and Jeffrey Parker (trumpet). These groups will perform at the IMEA State Convention January 15-17 in Ft. Wayne.

Email Lists

Every student in a band class needs to have at least one parent on the main BHSN ALL-BANDS email list. Also sign up for Marching Band and Jazz Bands lists if relevant!
