THE PIZZA MAN sales earned $12,000 toward the individual student accounts, of those students that participated. Thanks to all the students that sold these delicious products and also to Beverly Ruiz for distributing the items.

There was a good turn out for the Silent Auction. Thanks to the many items from area Businesses & Individuals this event raised $6,000. A special thanks to all the volunteers who helped set up, and register bidders. A special thanks to Gloria Bier and Inger Nimcik for organizing the event. The money raised went into the General Fund account.

Although the day was very hot, lots of bargain hunters found our Garage Sale. We had many items to choose from thanks to the many donations from band parents. The total at the end of the day was $800. We have several items left over and hope to have another sale in the early fall. So hold on to those precious heirlooms. Thanks to all the workers that braved the heat and help with this event.

Starting in August we will start selling BHSN Bands Discount Cards. What is a Discount Card? On the back of this credit card sized card, are 18 Local Businesses that will honor a discount on items or services at their location. The card will sell for $10 and students selling the card will receive $7 toward their student trip account. The card is good from July 98 thru July 99. You will want to purchase several of these cards for the family and to give as gifts. We expect to sell out of these cards fast, so buy yours now. Also in August the Marching Band is going to have a Tag Day. This is where students will go door to door seeking donations for the Capital Campaign. We are still planning this event so if you would like to volunteer to help or to make a donation, contact Dina Spechler at 339-3777 for more information.

Barnes and Noble Booksellers is sponsoring a Bookfair in August , tentative set for the 29th. Students will hand out coupons to be used when purchasing books, CDS, etc... on a specified date and a portion of the sales goes to the Capital Campaign. We are looking for small combos to play in the center area and parents and students to work this day. If interested please call Steve Hinds at 334-1051 or e-mail at shinds@compuserve.com.

Borders Books will be sponsoring a Benefit Days in September tentatively set for the 11th , 12th and 13th. Students will hand out coupons to be used when purchasing books, CDS, etc... on a specified date and a portion of the sales goes to the Capital Campaign. We are in the planning stages of this event. If you would like to volunteer to help with any of the fund rasing efforts or have an idea, please don't hesitate to contact us. We have many ideas but so few people to initiate them.
