(7 May 2009) Senior Thea Bransby was one of ten finalists in the Great American Songbook Competition and Showcase which will take place at Butler University on Sunday, May 31, 2009. The winning vocalist will perform with 6-time Grammy Nominee Michael Feinstein in New York City, in addition to receiving a cash prize.
Sophomore flautist Josh Clampitt was named the winner of the IMEA Student Composition contest for his piece, Concerto for Cello and Orchestra. It is very likely that the Indiana All-State Orchestra will premier this concerto next January at the state music educators convention.
Sophomore pianist Margaret Chun was awarded first place in the Monore County Alpha Chi Omega Talent Contest, and then she went on to the Midwest Level and was named runner-up, earning $700 in prize money.
