Baroque Variations

Our show this season is based on a Baroque classical guitar tune called Canarios by Gaspar Sanz. Gaspar Sanz (1640-1710) was an Aragonese Spanish composer and priest born in Calanda in the area of Bajo Aragón. He became the dominant figure of Spanish Baroque music, and has influenced several composers well into the twentieth century. We will feature our resident classical guitarist Harry Gaebler throughout the show. he will begin the show playing the Canarios theme. We will then travel through several variations with highs and lows, eventually hearing from Harry again at the end. Our show will feature beautiful ornateness shown through the guard costuming and gold painted corner tarps to imitate brocade fabrics.
